Pals Blog Hop for August - Too Cool for School!

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for August.  This month we are showing off our favorite crafting tools – those Stampin’ Up! tools that we just can’t live without.  We hope you enjoy our projects!

You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Jane Knudsen at See Jane Stamp, stop number 17 on the Pals Hop.  If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects.

When it came down to figuring out what Tool to feature there were just too many options to pick from! In face I got a bit overloaded with possibilities...and then my Demonstrator Pre-Order arrvied and everything changed! I haven't had the chance to really dive completely into my box yet, but there was one product that I just had to try. Shockingly it wasn't the stamp sets, bundles, or papers...it was the NEW soon to be release Fine Tip Glue Pen! Yes, you read that correctly! Stampin' Up! is releasing a Fine Tip Glue Pen that I absolutely love and I could not wait to get my hands on! I wanted to use it as a test run with the Metallic Sequin Assortment that I ordered when the Annual Catalog came out that I hadn't had the chance to use yet. I just love the results!

I was not too sure how well the Tombo Multipurpose Glue would do on the Metallic Sequin Assortment simply because even sparingly it seems to come up to be a bit too much for something as delicate as Sequins. That was simply not an issue or even a concern with this card. Not only does the glue come out of the Fine Tip Glue Pen in a clear stream, but just a bit of pressure and there is enough hold for any thin items. I can't wait to try this new adhesive out on the amazing Butterfly Dies we have and a few of the upcoming Holiday Catalog items! I have used a lot of adhesives in my papercrafting career (I started scrapbooking in High School), but this adhesive has a special fine tip applicant and a pin in the cap to keep this glue sealed and ready for ease of use. I know once you give it a try, you will see why I simply had to showcase this Tool on the Too Cool for School Pals Blog Hop!

Now on to the card details, yes, I know I started to ramble a bit above. I used the fabulous new No Bones About It Stamp Set. I create a simple card really making this Dino pop off my card and added the Go Wild Designer Series Paper Pad in the background. Something about this pattern made me think of cave paintings so I decided to add footprints in Whisper White Craft Ink in the background to mimic what one might find if they were in an archeology dig. Now, this is a card, and as such I thought it needed some bling. I decided to use these Metallic Assortment Sequins to make the footprints stand out and of course show off my new Tool too! I really like how this card came together, I hope you enjoyed stopping by as well!

The next stop is Katy McGloin at Just Fun Stamping, stop number 19 on the Pals Blog Hop!  Thanks for visiting; I hope to see you on next month’s Pals Hop!

Pals Paper Arts Challenge - Color Challenge!

I got the chance to play along with the current Pals Paper Arts Challenge #262 - Color Challenge today, this color combination really caught my eye. Each week the Pals Paper Arts team creates fabulous samples and invites their readers to join in! This weeks challenge is a color challenge.
I had such a great time working with these colors! I kept going back and forth on what to use for this week's challenge and I settled on creating a fun flower card featuring the Remarkable You Stamp Set and Go Wild Designer Series Paper Pad! When I first saw this stamp set Remarkable You, I knew I had to have it and I just couldn't wait to start using watercoloing techniques, but when I finally sat down to work on this card I just had to reach for my Subtles Stampin' Write Markers. I simply love how this card turned out, I think the introduction of the touch of an angle on the main image allows for a creation that draws you in, plus it gave a bit more space for the darling Metal Rimmed Pearls that I added to my card too. This was such a fun card to create!

Better Get Better

Good morning! Today is a big day over here, today we really being most of the moving that we need to do into our new home! We have been packing almost non-stop it seems which is why I haven't been posting as often as I would like. Please accept my apologies. By this weekend we should be settled into our new home!

For today I have a fun card for you that we created as part of a Stamp A Stack class I offered to a wonderful group of 10 ladies as part of their Church Retreat. We had a blast, and the best part was that only two of the ladies in attendance had ever stamped before, but after our class together everyone left a stamper! We really did have a wonderful time and created a great variety of cards, but looking back through my stash, I realized that I never shared this creation with all of you. I simply love the texture that the Lovely Lace Textured Impressions Embossing Folder adds and the Flower Shop Stamp Set and matching Pansy punch plus the Petite Petals Stamp Set and matching Petite Petals Punch really knock the overall card out of the park! I think this layout is a timeless layout that you will see me use more of!

Pals Paper Arts Challenge - PPA 261!

I got the chance to play along with the current Pals Paper Arts Challenge #261 - Sketch Challenge today, this sketch really caught my eye. Each week the Pals Paper Arts team creates fabulous samples and invites their readers to join in! This weeks challenge is a sketch challenge!

I had such a great time working with this sketch! I kept going back and forth on what to use for this week's challenge and I settled on creating a butterfly in flight card! I pulled out my Bitty Butterfly Punch, my Elegant Butterfly Punch, and my new Bold Butterfly Framelit Dies and created three darling butterflies! All three are cut and punched out of my scrap piece of Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack that I have been setting aside for when the time was right - that time was today! I added a bit of texture using the Arrows Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and made the card more playful by rotating the layers just a bit. If that wasn't enough I 'tied' it all together with the darling Lost Lagoon 5/8" Striped Cotton Ribbon! There are no stamps on this creation, but I love it all the same and it features so many of our amazing products too!

Thank you for visiting my blog today. I hope you stop by again soon! Have a wonderful day! Crazy Above You Flower Frenzy!

Today I want to share with you a fun 'Happy Birthday' card I created as part of one of my Stamp A Stack classes recently. I simply love to create my own designer series paper, and that is exactly what I did with today's share!

The Crazy About You Stamp set is such a fun set. It comes with these two fabulous flowers stamps and the matching stem, and if that wasn't enough it also comes with an amazing stash of sentiments perfect for multitudes of creations. For this card I went with a simple 'Happy Birthday' to match this lovely background. I used the colors Soft Sky, Cucumber Crush, and Crushed Curry to bring all of these images together and I also used a Lost Lagoon card base. The best part about cards like this is that they really create a lot of wow with just some simple stamping. I simply love the effect you achieve when using this stamp set to create your own designer series paper.

A Bit of Vanilla!

Good morning! Today I wanted to share with you a card that was created at my Stamp Club meeting last month! We had a blast with this color combination of Very Vanilla, Rich Razzleberry, and Blackberry Bliss!

Flowers, I simply love flowers. All shapes, sizes, colors, species...but the flowers that really suck me in are the ones that people use in their arts. This flower is part of our wonderful stamp set Butterfly Basics! I don't know if you have seen a lot of samples with this stamp set using this flower image I know I haven't, but it is simply beautiful. Could I have colored in this flower - of course our Stampin' Write Markers would be perfect, but then you might not see all this detail under the coloring. I really wanted this flower to pop so I layered it onto a piece of Very Vanilla and accented the background using the You've Got This canvas type stamp for the added texture appearance. To finish of this card I used the new Blackberry Bliss 5/8" Striped Cotton Ribbon - that happens to be on this week's Weekly Deals! This combination was a blast to work with, consider it as part of your next order and be sure to add in other wonderful Weekly Deals too!

Pals Paper Arts Challenge - PPA 260 - Sketch!

I got the chance to play along with the current Pals Paper Arts Challenge #260 - Sketch Challenge today, these colors are so much fun together. Each week the Pals Paper Arts team creates fabulous samples and invites their readers to join in! This weeks challenge is a sketch challenge!

I had such a great time working with this sketch! I recently got this stamp set and this sketch was the perfect excuse to get this set inked up! The No Bones About It stamp set really caught my eye when I saw it added to the new catalog. I just had to have it! I decided on greens - Wild Wasabi and blacks for this Triceratops today, he just makes me smile! These stamps were so easy to line up and this stamp fits so nicely inside the Chalk Talk Framelie Dies. When trying to decide what to use as as accent I decided to pull out this retired ribbon that I ordered once from the Clearance Rack and shared with a friend. I have a decent amount of this ribbon left and I thought this card would be perfect together. This sketch just called out to me for this No Bones About It stamp set and I simply love the results!
